    Hi,

I’ve been trying to add a favicon to my wordpress site (Omega with Alpha child theme). Somehow I can’t get it working and after searching I found the Omega Favicon plugin, which isn’t available in WordPress anymore. When I add the plugin manually, my admin panel crashes.

Adding the favicon manually doesn’t seem to work. I’ve added it in header.php in both the parent as theme directories, but somehow it will only show up in my backend.

Does anyone have a workaround here?

    Thanks in advance!

Really all you have to do man is replace the favicon.ico on your server, via FTP. I have the same problem, clear the cache and it won’t appear….but just wait a few days and it will eventually appear. Did you try using a different browser that you have never used before to view your site, or check from a different computer after changing the .ico file?

    What is your site?

Yeah I did that, but it still doesn’t work.

    The URL is http://www.ateliersopra.nl

EDIT: Fixed it! I read somewhere that I also had to add the favicon.ico file to my theme map. After doing that I cleared the cache and it worked 🙂

    Thanks!

I used FileZilla and uploaded the favicon.ico file in /omega and in /alpha. I have edited the .php files earlier, so I don’t know if that has influence on this method.
