remove featured image from within posts?

I use Omega Family child theme. I have set featured images for each post as I want the image to show in my post loop excerpts. But the image is appearing within each post at the top. How do I remove the featured image from within posts but keep it for post loop excerpts? What code should I change/remove? And where do I find this code? I am new to this.

I figured it out!
Appearance – Customise – Posts – Uncheck ‘Include the Featured Image’
Hooray. Family Theme is wonderful – just taking a while to figure it all out!
