Removing the "comment" label above the Comment Form Box

Needed to ask about the “Comment” label just above the comment form box. It is the standard label found in comments_template.php, but as we all know, it’s never a good idea to hack core. But how do I remove it without removing the corresponding label tag in comments_template? (or, for that matter, how would I go about changing “Leave a Reply” to something else?, and which php file in the theme would I place the code?

If I need a plugin for said activity, let me know what might be a good one to use.
