The recent theme update is a real pity. It changes my layout, for which I have to install a legacy plugin, and it makes changes to my site-face because some of the CSS tweaks are simply not working any more. In all, updating the them was a really bad idea and I rolled back, solving all problems.

So, I never want to update that thing ever again. Can I suppress the notification I see in the WordPress admin menu?

Yes you can. WordPress theme repository updated their theme requirement and disallow Shortcodes usage in theme. Also, we want to inline our themes to the guideline and keep future compatibility with WordPress development.

Ah, thanks for the reply. I also found the switch. I rather upgrade though, but before that the CSS issue must be solved. Is that in the pipeline somehow?

Yes, new version is being reviewed by WordPress Theme Review Team. But you can get the latest version of Omega here
